The "He - She Story"

The "He-She Story"

The wall clock ticked 5.30. He heaved a sigh of relief and a vibe of excitement. It was Friday. For last 1 year, his Fridays were special. It was a ritual. It was a habit. It had become a way of life.

Just like all past Fridays, he would move out of office, get a small sized  yellow flowered bouquet and a couple of Swiss chocolates. She really loved both the things, he never forgot to carry them before meeting her. every.single.time.

Midst the traffic, the crowd, hush hush of people flocking towards their homes, he reached the cafe. Anxious, nervous, happy, elated, curious. His eyes were searching her frantically. His heart was a mix bag of joy and nervous energy. He moved little further into the cafe and ,

She was there. Calm, Pretty and composed. with a smile that exuded warmth and love. She too was probably was anxiously waiting for him. It was the only Friday they would be meeting in that particular month.

He approached her, rather his heart approached her, that feeling of extreme happiness, positive vibe.

" sorry , so so sorry for being late " - He apologized, embarrassed.

" Thats ok Darling, as long as you have the flowers for me" - She tried assuring him, re-assuring herself.

" Great. But today, let us make it special. I have something more to show you. Something you are probably unaware of." - He tried creating more suspense.

" No. Don't tell me you goofed up in your work or you again had a bad bad drunk night. I do not like all this" - She became a little annoyed.

" Before you jump to further crazy assumptions, have a look at this " - He took out a medium sized greeting card, with all the borders decently adorned, and a message which she was not able to see clearly as he tried his best to hide it and let her do the guessing game.

" come on, show it na, enough of this hide and seek now" - She was almost impatient.

He looked at her innocent face. He looked at the card again. He quickly went through the message and turned it upfront so that she could read it.

The moment she read it, she was speechless, she was happy, she was almost in tears, a million emotions embraced her, for the card read -

" Happy birthday Mom. Thanks for being there throughout and forever. You have been the angel of my life."   From your son, eternally in-debt of your love.

That's a cute simple story! :D

Thought it was going to be another cheesy bf-gf tale, but the ending did surprise me. Nice read!
