That Woman of Today
Its another Monsoon in Mumbai. one of those windy and rainy mornings in a Mumbai Suburb. He wakes up, with his body in the bed, but the mind already at the tasks cut out for the day. He gets ready, grabs a quick bite and ponders over his mobile for a brief moment.Few mental notes, a quick look at the calendar, and he sets out, for work, for life, for existence.
Midst the usual chaos of heavy traffic, honking of horns, undisciplined pedestrians, he reaches his office. Another swanky plush corporate set up, with everything available at the drop of the hat. He repeats the routine activity - press 9th floor button, look at the small screen and stand before the relevant elevator.
Its just 08.30 in the morning, office quieter than usual, office boys cleaning up, ensuring the place is ready for another day of heated discussions, bitching about boss at Tea and some more struggle to prove your worth. He being oblivious of all the things, is greeted by the security person at the reception, walks in with a broad smile - Corporate Training always brought this broad smile on his face, for it was his passion, his dream and more than just a routine job. But today, he was on the other side of the table, as a trainee.
A quick call to the trainer to ensure she is on time. Some instructions to office boys to have a final check at the training hall, and the set-up and its 9.15, the trainer arrives at the counter.
" hey good morning, I have reached." - says the trainer
" Morning, just coming out in a minute" - he hangs up.
He reaches the front desk to receive "the trainer" and a sudden state of surprise and pleasantry embraces him. One pretty fair woman, in her mid-twenties, probably 5"3 greets him with a wide smile and a confident yet soothing voice.
The training gets over in next 2 days. Trainer turns out to be one gem, one profound expert in her field. Not only she handled the training very well, but also proved amazingly effortless in sharing knowledge and answering queries of all the participants.
However, he is still pondering over her , her way of talking, thought process, knowledge. One young beautiful woman who knows how to share knowledge, how to handle a small crowd, how to manage things, how to clear doubts, how to enjoy on weekends, and most amazingly, how to smile throughout. And one simple question that strikes him - is she the woman of today that we all keep talking about ? a woman who is knowledgeable, talented, ambitious, confident...... and also a woman who is beautiful, simple, pleasant, adorable and graceful. Society, people and almost every other person often cribs about a woman not being able to handle personal as well as professional life to the hilt. For she shall prioritize her life according to the needs and demands of people around her. Quite irrational. He thought. if a woman can balance both the things, if she can educate a person at work and also can be the reason behind someone's smile, hopes, dreams back home, that would be the epitome of all good things coming in one single package. and there is no reason one should judge a woman based on what she really needs to do and what she actually does. today's woman is not only ambitious and empowered with knowledge, but she surely knows how to prioritize her own self and the life around her. He had seen one fine example of that through his interactions with her.
suddenly, his cell gave a message alert. it was her - " hey , thanks for the hospitality, training you guys was really good and so was the pizza".
" pleasure is all mine, it was quite an experience for me, and a lot of new revelations, and yes, I am not just talking about training." - He replied, he reciprocated, he was smiling. that feeling of extremely positive vibes.
" I did not get you. " - came her reply with a puzzled voice
"Relax, at times, even I do not get myself" - He said.
and the chat came to a halt. she would be coming again to train him next week. he is waiting to be trained, more importantly, he is waiting to be smitten, mind blown and marveled. He had met "that woman of today" and he had actually understood what this phrase really meant.
